Never buying Samsung again

we have had our refrigerator for less than 5 years and spent around $800 to try and fix it, only to have it break again. from the research i have done and after talking to the repair man, samsung has a very poor deign for their cooling system which makes it break often. there were a few companies that will not do repairs on any samsung appliance because they are such a bad product.
we have had ice build up on the back of our refrigerator which no longer allows the system to cool properly. again, after research this is a very common occurrence with any samsung refrigerator.

first: icemake water fill over flows, and wets the ice in the tray below, causing it to freeze all the ice made into a single block of ice.. you need a hammer to break it up, or toss it.. unreliable, no way to adjust it so the ice cubes are a tad smaller and don't over flow.
second; lower crisper drawer doesn't track smoothly unless you apply a slight downward pressure.. replaced the drawer, same problem
third: this finish is not fingerprint resistant.. and this finish will scratch very easily

just after warranty was up, the ice maker broke. a week later, a loud humming sound started. i always heard it but it got so loud i can hear in another room. frost is on our food in the freezer now. the freezer hinges are so squeaky when opening and closing. my last fridge (not samsung) lasted 15 years and never had a problem. talked with customer service and no help whatsoever besides a link to see what the problem was. terrible. will be buying a new fridge from another company after 2 years.

generally, the refrigerator does what it is supposed to do...keep things cold; however, we have now owned this unit for 15 months and the ice machine has broken twice. first time was just two weeks before end of warranty and now we have to shell out nearly $400 to fix it. there are online reviews all over the place discussing this issue. i wish i had seen them before making this purchase.

lots of room, and easy to configure the shelves etc to suit your needs. nice and bright when you open it. we haven't had any of the noise problems others have mentioned thankfully. it sits right behind the couch in our living room and we never notice it. the only 2 thimgs i don't care for much is 1- the wide vegetable/deli draw is a little flimsy and ours cracked a little in the front corner a few days after bringing it home, and the divider for that drawer just slides in a couple of grooves and is easy yo bump out of place. 2- the ice maker is slower to produce ice than we thought it would be. it cannot keep up with a family of 5.

well this product was great for the first year, then earlier this year started having problems with it cooling ... at that time it was less than 17 months old ... called for service, they would not cover anything.... so i emptied everything out and completely defrosted system , and it worked ok for a couple months and now it just will not cool anymore... all with it being less than 2 years old and warranty will not cover anything. extremely disappointedin this product, usually very brand loyal , not anymore ... had issues with the stove bought at the same time as well had to replace 2 switches on it.... done with samsung appliances

let me start with how disappointed i am. purchased at home depot brand new. after 6 months all my door trays for storage one by one broke. now i know there weight limits . family of 4 we never over stock it. i'm blessed that i can fill it with food but not to the point and weight to be a problem. . the icemaker worked two months now it freezes and well i'm aware of global issues with this models. very sad to say

we have had this model for almost two years. around six months in to owning this, the door bins began to break. we lost two within the first year. i am a very busy single mom and i should have taken the time to contact customer service, but i did not. now, less than two years into owning this model, we are down to two bins. both of those have cracks and probably will not last much longer. to replace these bins, the cost is $70+, by the time i replace the ones we lost we would be out a little less than $500! it is truly ridiculous that a product part does not last longer than two years! make sure if you do purchase this, you purchase an extended warranty that will cover the door bins. because you will lose them!

i baught this refrigerator 01/05/218, on 09/11/209, loud noise was coming from the unit so i call a repair company to fix it, then june 23, the same problem. i did recommend this refrigerator to my sister & my neighbor and both have the problem. i'm real estate broker, so i always recomemed samsung appliance to my clients. this is not good for my buisness.

I bought this refrigerator a year and a half ago and I absolutely love it, it has so much more space than any other refrigerator I've owned, or at least is easier to use the space it has than any other. Shelves are movable with several that slide back for more space for tall items without rearranging all the shelving entirely, the separator in the deli drawer is easily moved to organize all cheeses meats or veggies. And the freezer being the width of the entire fridge and having the sliding drawer in the top makes it so much easier to keep large frozen pizzas and other snack without struggling to turn items to fit, everything is easily found without digging, and it just seems to have so much room. I recently moved all items to my deep freeze for cleaning and defrosting my refrigerator, and found that my deep freeze was basically half full with only the items that didnt even fill the samsung refrigerators freezer!
Which brings me to the only con I've had with this fridge. I had quite a bit of trouble with the refrigerator freezing up and needing defrosting last year, but after several calls and chats with support that had no longer been an issue, until now. I'm currently dealing with higher temperatures in this unit and a noise that is constant unless the freezer is opened, as I was last year. With any luck once it has fully defrosted I will never have the issue again as this time I believe an issue with my home a/c and a storage issue in the refrigerator have been the cause of this. Even with the issue though I dont believe I could ever love another refrigerator as much as this one and if this becomes a once a year thing I would consider it worth it for how well this unit works for me.

I really regret selling my old LG and buying this. Thought I was getting a good deal, but this thing is so loud you can't hear the TV in the other room at times. Had the Samsung authorized center come out and they said that is normal. Told they guy maybe for Samsung, but not for me. What a joke. Unfortunately went past my return window from Lowes as I was traveling. I will either have to donate it or try to sell on Craigslist. My 10 year old LG I sold for $600 produced way more ice and I never even thought about refrigerator noise.

Bought this fridge 2 1/2 years ago. Love the space inside but the ice maker has always been slow. Now it doesn't even work - even after resetting the ice maker. Not sure I would buy again after reading reviews of other people having the same problem with their ice maker.

I bought this product 2 days ago and I am already having issues with the left refrigerator door not closing properly. The door on this side has a seal that is supposed to slide behind the opposite door when closed. The problem I am having is that this seal is not sliding and this is preventing the left door from closing unless significant effort is applied.

We bought this refrigerator as part of the Black Friday sale at Lowe's for $998.00. We were sceptical at first based on older review esp with concerns over noise. The noise issue compared to our previous Whirlpool brand is similar, so in my mind, not an issue.
After 2 months we have had no problem. It is very spacious with many options for storing food. The finish does not show dirt or fingerprints. Energy consumption is hard to tell at this time due to the only bill being received was the December bill, which included Christmas lights.
As for Lowe's delivery, I have to give them a big A+. Delivered on Sunday and were very professional. Leveled refrigerator before leaving and took all waste with them.
Love it so far.

There are many aspects of this fridge I like, the design is very well thought out. The bottom freezer is handy and allows for maximum storage space. However, the shelves are not very durable and very prone to cracking and breaking. I hoped the reviews noting this were incorrect or the flaw had been fixed from previous models, but based on 6 months of ownership, the flaw is very much still present. To add insult to injury, they will not accept my invoice for proof of purchase. They insist that Home Depot can print a new invoice with the information they require, but Home Depot can't look up the purchase since my credit card number changed due to a data breach. Long story short, warranty is not worth the ink it's printed with.

I bought my unit on 11/18/2017 and am being told my warranty has expired. We were told we have 1 year after purchase on factory warranty. Our ice maker has not worked properly since purchase. When we got it it was working right and then it started working so we did not contact service. Now it does not work at all. Very unhappy. I read online the ice maker has recalls and they are telling me I have no warranty or anything and will need to pay for all service. Love the unit but very disappointed in service and the icemaker.

I bought this fridge about 6 months ago and I love it. I really like having the freezer on the bottom especially since I am in a wheelchair, it makes it much easier to reach. I really like the lighting and the door storage that do hold a lot. As with any new fridge, it takes time to see where everything goes. It would be nice if there were some sort of examples of how to use the shelves/space more effectively.

I bought this last year and I love it! It is very roomy and I love that the shelf can extend and push back so longer or bigger bottles/containers can fit upright on the shelf. The freezer is huge and can fit a lot of food. It's also easy to clean.

I bought this refrigerator a short time ago, and thus far, it is the best money spent in a long time. The French Door layout with pull out drawer freezer is vastly superior to side by side models w/freezer on one side and fridge on the other. The space is utilized much better, and more efficienct. It holds temps rock steady, and it is extremely quiet...Highly recommended.

We had the same Samsung French door refrigerator for about 10 years, so we gave another try for the same model last year. About 6 months after the purchase, it started to make weird rattling sound in the back of fridge compartment. We called for a service and the service person said it's just simply frozen condensation in the fridge and they can't do anything about it. Now it has been exactly a year since the purchase (and of course the warranty just expired), it's making loud rattling noise from both the bottom freezer compartment and fridge compartment. It stops when you open the freezer door and soon starts again once you close it. Apparently this problem is pretty common in Samsung fridge and they're still not doing anything to solve the problem. I should've paid more money to buy a fridge from different manufacturer. Very disappointed.

So my wife and I shopped around looking at all the mid to high level quality refrigerators and finally decided on this model. We were initially satisfied with our purchase but keep in mind this is supposed to be a durable good. After 7 months the freezer stopped working and there was no way to tell because the digital read out still said 0 degrees F even though it was 36 degrees F. We did not notice the issue until our ice cream melted along with some other frozen goods. We are currently working on repairing this model via the one year warranty and will now be forced to purchase an extended warranty because once something this new initially gets past Samsung's quality control we know there will undoubtedly be more issues that will arise after the warranty period runs out. It is really disappointing that a durable good from what is supposed to be a quality manufacturer can't even make it a year but maybe that's why the warranty is only for year and in a way we were lucky that it broke so soon.

Truly, it's a beautiful fridge and the interior of the refrigerator portion is large. Aside from that, the freezer drawer was the reason to buy it but that is also the drawback. The drawer is fragile to being closed too hard or not hard enough. The nuance of closing a drawer to the point where it will automatically retract is beyond most of the members of the my household. Close it too hard and it will drop a roller bar but don't close it with enough force and it doesn't pull itself in like it is suppose to close and you get frost. But like I said, I love the way it looks!!

Nice looking refrigerator and the black stainless does not show finger prints.I like that the ice drawer opens up with the main drawer so you do not have to open two drawers to get to the ice.Lots of shelf space on inside of doors as well as the refrigerator.

This is by far the best refrigerator that I have ever owned. It is very spacious. The lighting in it is above par. I can see everything in it, therefore no food gets shoved to the back and forgotten. I love the French doors. I can easily see and access everything in the freezer. The shelves and door shelves are so roomy. I can put a gallon of milk in the door!

After much research, we decided to replace our aging side by side unit with a French door model. What a great purchase! The black stainless is very attractive and we opted to keep the look clean by eliminating the front water feature. Makes great ice (quickly too) and is a very quiet refrigerator. Above all, this fridge has more than enough space for our family -- I love that the interior is bright and having lots of door storage for condiments is fantastic. I can easily fit a large roast or baking pan inside, without having to compromise space for our everyday grocery items. The price point on this is great too -- excellent value!
